Vegetable Garden
I just re-discovered these photos from Napa. We went walking through the garden where they grow the all the produce served at The French Laundry. My cousin Mitchell and I tried to see who could identify the most vegetables correctly. There isn't much I love more than strolling through nature and admiring the foliage.

My mom's hands are so recognizable.
The restaurant is directly across the street!

RAPTURE RIOT
This blog used to be a lot more personal, huh? It was comprised of photos I took, thoughts I thought. Maybe I feel boring. Life is what it is. I work 9-6 every day, consumed by mostly 6-digit numbers and inputing data so ms. macys can get her cool sweaters on time.
Whoa it was so gross today and all of a sudden it's beautiful. Spring is weird. May is weird. Tomorrow is supposed to be the end of the world. An earthquake will erupt? Fire will rain from the sky? Currency will take the form of canned goods? That sounds great and all, but I just bought a plane ticket for $250 and I sure as hell (ha) plan on redeeming it. See what I did there? That was funny.
But really if the world is going to end I wish I hadn't payed rent this past month. I shall make up for it with all the rioting and looting tomorrow.

grid-styling
images of [collections of] things laid out in a grid.
okay, so maybe this isn't laid out on a grid but it's in a square and that's close enough.
I can see how this is a popular way to present things; it's orderly and clean while still retaining interest. we could all use some of that in our chaotic lives, no? I also love this dissected thing that's been popping up in cook books, among other things. let's take apart this gadget or dish and then lay all the pieces/ingredients out in a grid-style. it's a cool way to look at all the tiny bits and pieces that go into make a whole.
doctor, doctor
I stayed home sick from work today. Apparently I have asthma? I've just been laying around with Chuck all day. He usually gets really agitated when I sneeze, but thankfully he's not bothered by incessant coughing.
It's also good to know that sometimes Abbey Lee needs to go to the doctor too.
Every year I get some crazy illness due to allergies but I've never experienced anything like this before. I usually turn into a swamp monster with inside out skin and gross eyes that hides from the outside world, covered in aquaphor head to toe. I've never not been able to breathe before. My allergies have even inspired songs, which is both hilarious and pitiable considering their magnitude and effect on others! I wish I could share the song on here but I don't know how to upload mp3s... :( it's a great song, by a fantastic artist, and I listen to it every year when I'm feeling ill from my immuno-disfunctions and need to crack a smile. At least I know someone appreciates the strange occurrence which is my allergic reaction to spring. Also Charlie appreciates it because sometimes it keeps me home from work.

Guim Tio
Guim Tio is an artist from Barcelona. His work is striking and odd. I find the way he paints his subjects' eyes really draw me into the paintings. I've had his website up on my browser for days now, revisiting frequently each day between mindless browsing. I love his sporadic attention to the hair. The sequins on the girl's pink sweater really jump out at me. I would love to own one of his paintings. Maybe someday when I can accrue the necessary funds.
Check out more of his work here Guim Tio

young bride
I haven't listened to this song in a good while. I'm not crazy about the music video but I do enjoy the end.
